BSO KinderBolwerk is the first center of Rollebol kindercentra BV in Alkmaar offering after-school care combined with scouting. We are located in the scouting building of scouting association Graaf Daron, at Elgerweg 103 in Alkmaar Noord, on a beautiful green location at the edge of the Oudieplas. Our location provides care for children aged 4 to 13 years and is open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The collaboration with scouting association Graaf Daron makes our center unique. The building is surrounded by plenty of space, grass and trees, offering children endless possibilities to play, move around and let off steam in the fresh outdoor air. Inside the building there are enough challenging spaces for various activities such as drawing, crafts or reading a book on the couch. We offer both before-school care (VSO) and after-school care (NSO), where parents can compose their own combinations per day. Holiday care and care on non-school days are also possible. Our pedagogical staff pick up and drop off children from schools in the surrounding neighborhoods of Alkmaar, either on foot or with our own cars. After school, we start with a shared table moment where children can tell what they did or experienced at school. We then offer one or more activities daily, using theme-based activities in age categories 4+, 6+ and 8+. These activities are offered in a rotating four-week cycle. Of course, there is also room for free play. We emphasize playing with natural materials in a green environment. Children are often outside, where we eat, drink and play outdoors when the weather is nice. During bad weather, we use the indoor facilities of the Scouting BSO. All our staff are qualified and we are HKZ certified.
