Kindercentrum Jip en Janneke

Welcome to BSO Jip en Janneke, located inside Kindercentrum Jip en Janneke at van Veenendaalstraat 1 in the centre of Oudewater. We provide after-school care for pupils in years 1–8 from every primary school in Oudewater. Our homely building radiates a warm atmosphere where children feel at home right away. Every afternoon starts with a shared moment: chatting, catching up on the day and preparing a healthy snack together. Afterwards the children choose their own activity. Our programme changes constantly through rotating themes that cover sport, technology, media, music, theatre, play, creativity and nature. In our studio they can paint, saw and craft with real materials; we even have a clay oven. In the kitchen we bake biscuits, cook soup or design our own menu. The garden is an adventure in itself: natural materials to experiment with, a five-a-side pitch for keen footballers and plenty of space to run and romp. We collect the children on foot or with our (bike) buses from schools within walking or cycling distance. Agreements with taxi companies ensure that children from schools further away also arrive safely with us. For parents who start early we offer breakfast club from Monday to Friday, 7:30–8:30 a.m. During school holidays we are open all day from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and provide an extensive holiday programme with outings, workshops and sports days. From October 2025 we will launch our BSO-plus group: a small-scale group for a maximum of 8 children who need a little more structure and guidance. Two permanent staff members (higher and intermediate vocational level) provide a clear daily rhythm, tailored activities and quiet moments when needed. We align as much as possible with the regular group activities, but always offer a suitable alternative.
