Kindcentrum De Klister

Kindcentrum De Klister is located at Noorderdiep 123 in the centre of Nieuw-Buinen and is part of the Christian foundation CKC Drenthe. At one familiar site we provide both primary education and out-of-school care for children aged 4 to 13. Our after-school care (BSO) is designed to give children a safe, welcoming and stimulating place to play, relax and continue their development after the school day ends. We work from a Christian identity: everyone is welcome, provided they accept and respect our life-stance. Each day begins and ends with a prayer or song; Bible stories and Christian celebrations are shared in a playful way. Our pedagogical approach is built on the core values Inspire, Trust, Collaborate and Quality. Together with parents and children we put these values into practice, creating an environment in which every child feels seen and valued. The BSO uses the school building and spacious outdoor area. After school, children receive a healthy snack or can opt for our warm-meal service. We also offer a pick-up and drop-off service to local sports and music clubs, making it easier for parents to combine work and care. During school holidays and study days care continues on the days you normally use BSO. Two whole-centre study days per year are scheduled when the entire centre is closed. Our team of pedagogical staff guide children in a wide range of activities that match their interests and developmental level—arts and crafts, sports and games, technology, nature and cultural education, and joint projects. We encourage independence, cooperation and mutual respect. Parents stay actively involved through our fortnightly newsletter, parent meetings and online parent portal. Together we ensure every child enjoys a happy, safe and challenging time with us.
