Kindcentrum De Branding Veller

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of Kindcentrum De Branding – location Veller, situated at Tusolaan 4 in Barneveld. We are part of the Protestant Christian Organisation for Care & Education, a foundation that unites 13 child centres in the Nijkerk, Barneveld and Woudenberg region. Our BSO is located in the same modern building as the primary school and day-care centre, allowing children aged 4 to 13 to play, discover and relax in a familiar environment after school. We work with two clearly defined base groups. BSO group 2 is intended for children aged 4 to 8 (maximum 10 children), while BSO group 3 accommodates children aged 6 to 13 (maximum 22 children). Each group has fixed pedagogical staff who build a personal relationship with the children. This base group is the safe home base where children can relax with a healthy snack and a drink before taking part in activities inside or outside the group. Our after-school care is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 18:00; Wednesday and Friday we only open from 12:00 to 18:00 if there are enough registrations. During school holidays we offer holiday BSO on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 08:00 to 18:00, possibly extended to Wednesday or Friday when demand is sufficient. During these holiday days we provide a varied programme including outdoor play in our natural playground, creative craft activities, sports and games outings and small excursions in the area. Parents and children are informed daily via the parent app Konnect. Here parents can view photos, read a short report of the day and communicate directly with the pedagogical staff. When picking up, there is always room for a personal conversation about the child's experiences. We believe it is important that children learn to be independent; from group 5 onwards we make agreements with parents and children about, for example, walking home independently or going to sports activities on their own. In this way, our BSO children grow step by step into independent young citizens.
