Kindcentrum Bernhard

Welcome to Kindcentrum Bernhard, located at Wilhelminastraat 47 in Steenwijk. Our child centre offers Christian childcare and primary education under one roof, where children aged 4 to 13 can attend after-school care (BSO). We are open daily from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Our motto is ‘learning to learn, learning to live’. From a Christian perspective, we encourage children to have a positive outlook on life, to respect one another, and to listen sincerely to each other. We also teach them to care for themselves, each other, and our beautiful environment. We work with three worlds: 0-3 years, 3-8 years, and 8-13 years. This creates a continuous learning line in the child's development. We recognise that every child is unique and can learn at their own level and pace. Our staff are inspired by the Reggio Emilia pedagogy. Children are each other's first educators and learn most from one another. Our professionals continually reflect on their role as the second educator. At Kindcentrum Bernhard, we give each child the time and space they need to develop themselves. We call this personalised discovery learning. Together with the children, we discover their true selves. We warmly welcome every child, regardless of background, culture, or religion.
