Hero BSO Eemstraat

Hero BSO Eemstraat is located in a characteristic former school building at Eemstraat 15 in Haarlem and offers after-school care for up to 60 children aged 4 to 12. The location is part of Stichting Hero kindercentra, a Haarlem-based organisation that has been active in childcare for more than 25 years. We have been registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 January 2010 under number 821481095. Our pedagogical staff welcome children after school in a homely, safe environment that offers both relaxation and challenge. We work closely with primary school De Bavo Eemstraat, so children can easily join us after their school day. The group rooms are bright and spacious, offering different corners where children can play, craft, build or simply unwind with a book. Outside we have an enclosed playground with climbing equipment, a sandpit and plenty of room for movement games. In bad weather children can use our gym. Our activities are tailored to the age and interests of the children: from creative workshops and cooking projects to sports and games and themed outings in the region. Whenever possible we involve children in planning and preparing activities, so they experience ownership and learn to plan and cooperate. We believe it is important that every child feels seen and valued. Our regular pedagogical staff therefore build a warm, trusting relationship with the children and their parents. Every day there is time for a shared moment: we eat fresh fruit and have a drink together, after which we close the day with a circle conversation. This way we take into account the needs of each child and parents can share in the experiences of the day when they pick up their child.
