Welcome to KDV Het Wonderbos B.V. at Riemsoord 42 in Appelscha. We are a small-scale after-school care facility (BSO) where children aged 4 to 13 can play and discover in nature after school. Our location is set in a wooded area and accommodates up to 10 children, allowing us to give plenty of individual attention. We pick up the children every day from primary schools de Riemsloot and de Mandebrink in Appelscha and de Buttinga in Oosterwolde. After school we head straight outside: in our nature discovery garden or the forest we turn every afternoon into an adventure. We believe that playing and exploring outdoors gives children self-confidence, creativity and resilience. That’s why we provide rain gear for all children, so we can go outside in any weather. During school weeks we are open from 14:15 to 17:30. In the holidays (spring break, May holiday, summer period July and August and autumn break) we offer care from 8:00 to 17:30. We provide a healthy afternoon snack with multi-grain crackers and raw vegetables, so the children can recharge after a day at school. Our team consists of enthusiastic, professional childcare workers who make every day a celebration. We work with clear structure and predictability, so children feel safe and seen. We spark their curiosity, encourage imaginative play and teach them to cooperate and communicate. In short: at Het Wonderbos, children grow up connected to nature and themselves.
