Buitenschoolse opvang Wheermolen

Welcome to BSO Wheermolen, located on the first floor of the brand-new Kindcentrum Wheermolen at Luitstraat 2 in Purmerend. We are part of Stichting Kinderopvang Purmerend and provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13. In January 2023 our energy-neutral, eco-friendly building opened its doors: a place where children have all the freedom to do whatever they feel like. Our three base groups – Baobap, Magnolia and Sequoia – each welcome up to 22 children and are staffed by fixed pedagogical professionals. After school we pick up the children from Kindcentrum Wheermolen or they come upstairs independently. In our home-corner, designed as a cosy terraced house, they can cook and bake; in the technology room they can craft or experiment; in the gym they can move; and in our own library they can read. Outside, the discovery garden awaits with climbing and swinging equipment, and we regularly explore the neighbourhood. We follow an open-door policy: after the joint healthy snack at 3 p.m. children can choose activities across groups. This fosters independence and social skills. During school holidays and study days we are open from 7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. as long as these days are included in the 52-week contract. We fill these days with extra workshops, excursions and themed activities. Parents receive daily photos and reports via the Parent App and can park for free right outside. Together with the teachers of Kindcentrum Wheermolen we create a warm, familiar environment where every child feels at home.
