BSO Juul

BSO Juul is located inside the Julianaschool at Burgemeester Martenssingel 38 in Gouda-Kort Haarlem. We are part of Stichting Quadrant Kindercentra, a non-profit foundation that has been providing childcare in Gouda and the surrounding area since 2001. After school, children walk straight from their classrooms to our spaces. The afternoon starts with a moment to unwind: chatting about the school day while enjoying a piece of fruit. Next, the children decide for themselves what they want to do. We believe it is important that children are heard; they tell us what they would like to do and together we check whether it is feasible. This leads to the most creative and crazy ideas! Both staff and children share responsibility for making the afternoon fun. Our location offers plenty of room to play and relax. Downstairs we convert two classrooms into suitable after-school areas for the youngest group. Upstairs we have our own space with a chill room (reserved for the oldest children), an atelier for woodworking, painting or crafting, a kitchen for joint cooking or baking, and various play corners. The school’s large outdoor playground invites running, climbing and romping around. BSO Juul is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from after-school time until 18:30. Children who need care on Wednesday go to BSO de Kwikstaart in Gouda-Noord; if enough families register we can also open Juul on Wednesdays. During school holidays we run an active holiday programme with fun outings and activities tailored to different areas of development. Parents follow their child’s adventures through our Parent app with photos and messages. In short, at BSO Juul children can enjoy their free time in a pleasant and relaxed way after school, living by the motto ‘Every day is different and after-school time = free time!’
