Jenaplan BSO

Jenaplan BSO is located at Jenaplanschool Gorkum, Traverse 18, in the Wijdschild district of central Gorinchem. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a familiar and safe environment. Because we are housed within the school itself, children can walk straight to the BSO after school without any transport. Our collaboration with the school is smooth and warm: we regularly coordinate with the teachers so that the transition from school to childcare is seamless. Our pedagogical policy aligns perfectly with the Jenaplan vision. We work with a rhythmic weekly schedule built around the four Jenaplan core activities: conversation, play, work and celebration. By alternating these activities we create a balance between effort and relaxation. Each period we choose a current theme and put together a programme that includes activities such as arts and crafts, sports, drama and cooking. This means there is always something to do and no child needs to be bored. We believe it is important that children experience ownership and can make their own choices within clear boundaries. Our pedagogical staff guide the children in this and encourage cooperation, respect for differences and responsibility. We also provide space for rest and quiet when needed. Our location has a capacity of up to 57 children and is registered under number 303897740 with the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate.
