It Pirateskip

Welcome to BSO it Pirateskip, our small-scale after-school care centre located at Bulthuissingel 16 in Burgum. We provide care for up to 26 children aged 4 to around 5.5 years. It Pirateskip is situated on the same premises as day-care centre De Boartersboat, allowing children who move from day care to after-school care at age four to stay in their familiar surroundings. Our pedagogical staff pick up the children from school at 2:00 p.m. We meet at a fixed spot in the schoolyard, recognisable by our orange vests or jackets with the Kinderopvang Burgum logo. We then travel together to the centre by BSO bus. Children who are already allowed to cycle independently can ride straight to it Pirateskip. Once we arrive, we share a drink and a snack. After that, children decide for themselves how they want to spend their afternoon. We work with themes, play outside, do puzzles, crafts or bake in our galley. There is always room to play alone for a while or quietly read a book. We understand that children have different needs after an intensive school day and therefore offer both active and quiet activities. For parents who have to start early, we provide before-school care from 6:30 a.m. We have breakfast together and take the children to school at 8:30 a.m. During the holidays we organise special outings and activities, often in collaboration with BSO de Boomhut, so that even the little ones get a taste of the next step in their development.
