De Bareel BSO

BSO De Bareel is the after-school care facility of Kindcentrum De Bareel, located at Waddenlaan 1 in Heemskerk. We provide care for up to 127 children aged 4 to 13. Because the BSO is housed inside the primary school building, children can move straight from their classroom to a familiar, safe environment. We organise children into five fixed base groups with a maximum size of 20 places, adjusted for age. The groups are: The BSO for (5–9 years), The Kitchen (5–9 years), Classroom (4–6 years), The Pit (7–13 years), The Pit+ (7–13 years) and The Corridor (5–9 years). We also offer before-school care (VSO) for up to 20 children aged 4 to 13. Grouping is based not only on age but also on friendships, school year and developmental stage, so children may move to another group when ready. Our pedagogical approach encourages learning through play. Children are challenged to develop motor, cognitive, language and creative skills. Activities include arts and crafts, sewing, construction, sports and games in the gym, board games and quiet reading on the sofa. Outdoor play is a regular part of the daily programme. BSO De Bareel is operated by Stichting Tabijn. All staff hold the required qualifications and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct. The GGD Kennemerland carries out unannounced inspections each year; the most recent inspections found no violations.
