IKC Talentencampus Eigen Wijs (BSO)

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of IKC Talentencampus Eigen Wijs, located at Verdistraat 2 in Leeuwarden. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 in a modern, public Integrated Child Centre where education and childcare blend seamlessly. Our BSO uses two base rooms, a technology & creativity lab, a kitchen, a playroom and the extensive outdoor area of the campus, so children can always choose where they feel at home. Our qualified staff work with age-based groups: one group for 4-7 year-olds and one for 8-12 year-olds. This set-up guarantees safety and gives space to learn alongside peers at the same developmental level. Occasionally we merge the groups, for example during holidays or quiet moments, creating a combined group in which children inspire one another. Activities are varied and focused on discovery and development. Children can play outside, enjoy free play in different activity corners, take on creative and technical building projects, cook, join movement activities and take part in guided play. We regularly organise excursions and offer workshops in art, culture, sport, science and technology as part of the Toparrangement. We believe outdoor time is important: children play outside on the school playground at least once every BSO day. We encourage free play and also guide group games when desired. Our before-school care runs from 7:00-8:30 a.m. We share breakfast and start the day calmly. After-school care is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. During school holidays we are open and provide holiday care. Every child knows their trusted childcare worker when needed. We apply clear, positive group rules that contribute to a safe and secure feeling. Together we create a pleasant and challenging place where children can be themselves and discover their talents.
