IKC de Abacus

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of IKC de Abacus, located at Van Gelrestraat 2a in Huissen. We are part of SKAR and provide care for children aged 4 to 13. Our two BSO groups, De Zeehonden and De Orka’s, offer every child a familiar place to unwind after school or to burn off energy. Our pedagogical professionals and teachers work closely together, ensuring a seamless connection between education and childcare. Children can choose what they want to do: relax with a book in a quiet corner, get creative in the art studio, or join one of the after-school activities. We offer science & technology, nature, and art projects, allowing children to explore new interests and discover their talents. Our outdoor area is wonderfully green and directly adjacent to the play-and-learn square. Here, children can run around, build, explore, and play together. The natural environment invites movement and imaginative play. Occasionally, we collaborate with other SKAR locations, such as IKC de Regenboog in Bemmel and ’t Holthuus in Huissen, to organize joint group activities. We believe it is important that every child feels seen and heard. Therefore, each child receives personal attention and tailored guidance. Our teams are professional, dedicated, and always ready to discuss the child’s development with parents. Parents are actively involved through our parent committee and can always reach out with questions or ideas. In short, at the BSO of IKC de Abacus, children have the space to be themselves, discover new things, and learn together in a safe and stimulating environment.
