BSO HonkZes

BSO HonkZes is our after-school care location at Molenakkerdreef 103 in Weert. Since October 2017, we have been welcoming up to 44 children from school years 4 to 8 every day. Located right inside the building of primary school Molenakker 2, the transition from school to after-school care is seamless. We give children the space to be themselves. Our programme ranges from outdoor play and messy activities to sports challenges and quiet corners to unwind. Each day is different, as we tailor activities to the children’s ages and interests. We run mixed-age groups (4–13 years), always adapting the offer to the various age levels within the group. Our qualified staff pick up the youngest children from school; older children may walk or cycle to us on their own, depending on age and distance. We are also open on teacher-training days and school holidays, often organising special outings or themed activities, sometimes together with other Humankind sites. As part of Stichting Humankind, we follow a clear pedagogical vision: every child is unique and is given room to make their own choices in a safe, secure environment. We work closely with OBS Molenakker and other Kindcentrum partners to support children’s development as one continuous journey from 0 to 12 years.
