Het Gebouw

BSO Het Gebouw is located in the largest broad school complex in the Netherlands, Het Gebouw on Arubapad in Leiden Noord. We use two rooms on the second floor and have a beautiful outdoor space where children can play and do sports. Our after-school care is small-scale and personal. Everyone is welcome, and you feel that as soon as you walk in. We work closely with the three primary schools in the building: R.K. basisschool De Singel, P.C. basisschool De Springplank, and O.B.S. De Viersprong. Most children come from these schools, so the transition from school to after-school care is smooth. Children from schools in the Merenwijk district are also welcome; we pick them up from school. Our pedagogical staff are close to the children. We actively involve them in thinking up and carrying out activities. We work in a talent-oriented way and have talent conversations with the children to discover what they are good at and what makes them happy. We use the Kids’ Skills method to develop social skills. The groups are small and homely, with an open-door atmosphere: the oldest children (Toppers) often drop by the youngest group (Bengels) and vice versa. This way, children learn from and with each other. Thanks to our unique location, we can use all the facilities in the building: the library, the sports hall, and the after-school activity program. Children can take music lessons or visit the library. During holidays, we regularly go on trips to playgrounds, museums, cinemas, or even the airport. These excursions are included in the price.
