Hestia School of Understanding

Welcome to Hestia After-School Care School of Understanding in Amstelveen. Our BSO is located within the School of Understanding building at Pandora 4A-5 and provides care for up to 64 children aged 4 to 13 years. We follow a pedagogical approach inspired by Montessori, Steiner and Reggio Emilia. Our spaces are designed with specific purposes: a construction corner, an art studio and other creative areas where children can freely develop themselves. We believe in free development where children are encouraged to discover themselves at their own pace. Our bilingual care (Dutch and English) welcomes children from diverse cultures. We emphasize outdoor play and regularly organize nature excursions. Our pedagogical staff assist children with homework and offer various activities after school hours. As a B Corp certified organization, we value sustainability and social engagement. We work with fresh ingredients for bread meals and healthy snacks. Our vegetable garden gives children the opportunity to learn about vegetables and fruits. For information about rates and placement, please contact our head office.
