Hamelen Dependance

Welcome to After-School Care Hamelen Dependance, part of Gro-up childcare. We are located at Zevenwoudenlaan 195 in The Hague and provide care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12. Our motto is ‘Together we colour the world’, and that is exactly what we do: we focus on the overall development of your child, ensuring they not only receive professional care but also enjoy fun and challenging experiences. Our pedagogical staff encourage children to take part in group activities, while also recognising when a child needs some quiet time. There is always space to sit on the sofa with a book, get creative with clay, drawing or painting, or simply have a nice chat. We alternate free play with group activities, and children are welcome to use all the BSO rooms. During school holidays, children are welcome for the whole day. We celebrate holidays as a special occasion: we organise different activities than after school and go on many outings. Children are actively involved in planning the holiday programme so we can meet their wishes. The programme is shared via the Parent App two weeks in advance and is also displayed on a poster at the location. We use the Parent App, which allows parents to securely follow their child’s daybook. It includes updates about the day, photos (if permission has been given) and practical information. We value clear communication with parents: we start with an intake meeting, hold an annual start-up conversation and invite parents to observe moments in the group. This way, we stay connected about what matters to the child and can align well at home with their experiences.
