H. Bijlsma t.h.o.d.n. Thuishuis de Bernebeam

Welcome to Thuishuis de Bernebeam, a small-scale after-school care facility in the heart of Kollumersweach. Our Thuishuis is located at Foarwei 139 and has provided care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12 since 1 November 2024. We are officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 553715045 and are supervised by the GGD Fryslân. At Thuishuis de Bernebeam we believe that children can go on a voyage of discovery every single day. Our vision is clear: children play outside every day and discover the wonders of nature all around our homely premises. We have a spacious green garden where children can play freely, but also help out in our own vegetable plot. Together we grow tasty vegetables and fruit that we later eat – straight from garden to table. In this way children learn where their food comes from and experience how fun and educational gardening can be. A special part of our childcare is our dog Sonic. He is present almost every day and helps children learn to interact respectfully with animals. The children are allowed to help care for Sonic, which not only teaches them responsibility but also lets them experience how wonderful the bond between humans and animals can be. Our facility is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We offer a warm, homely atmosphere in which we respond to each child’s needs. Because we work on a small scale, we really know every child and can offer personal attention. During school-holiday weeks Thuishuis de Bernebeam is closed and of course you pay nothing for those days. In addition, you can apply for childcare allowance, which often makes the care cheaper than expected.
