About this care
AI
BSO Guyot is located on the grounds of Kentalis primary school at Rijksstraatweg 63b in Haren Gn. We are a small-scale after-school care facility dedicated to deaf and hard-of-hearing children and children with a communicative multiple disability (CMB) aged 4 to 13. Our room is situated at the rear of the Kentalis site, making the transition from school to after-school care short and familiar.
We have capacity for up to 22 children, but currently welcome an average of 5 children each Tuesday afternoon, the only day we are open. Our qualified staff provide a safe and secure environment where children can relax, play and develop. We read picture books aloud – also in Dutch Sign Language – and offer calm activities such as arts & crafts and table games. Children are free to choose: rest on the couch, be creative or play together.
Our pedagogical policy focuses on giving every child emotional security, developing personal and social competences, and passing on generally accepted values and norms. We communicate both orally and in Dutch Sign Language so that every child feels seen and heard. Together we make agreements about tidying up and social interaction; in a playful way children learn the consequences of their choices.
BSO Guyot is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Haren (SKH). Our site is fully adapted to the specific needs of our target group: safe, clearly arranged and equipped with adapted play and learning materials. We work closely with the teachers of Kentalis Guyotschool to optimally support each child’s development.Read more
