BSO Groenoord

BSO Groenoord is part of the Quadrant Kindercentra foundation and is located on the ground floor of Kindcentrum Groenoord at Willem de Zwijgerlaan 57 in Waddinxveen. We provide after-school care for children attending De Regenboog primary school and Koning Willem-Alexanderschool. After classes, the children gather in the large, bright hall of the building. Different corners have been set up where they can relax with peers of their own age. While enjoying fruit and a drink, they share stories and make plans for the rest of the afternoon. Together with the children we organise a wide range of activities every week, such as crafts, outdoor play, sports and movement games, or quiet reading in our reading corner. Children decide for themselves whether they want to join in or prefer to do something else. Our pedagogical staff encourage personal choice and actively involve the children in coming up with new ideas. In this way they learn to take responsibility and to take each other into account. Outside we have a large, safe playground with climbing equipment, a small football pitch and plenty of space for dodgeball, skipping rope or simply running around. In case of bad weather we use the gym in the building. During the school holidays we offer a varied holiday programme with fun outings to the swimming pool, a playground or a petting zoo. Parents receive a schedule with dates and themes well in advance, so they can decide together with their child which days they would like to participate.
