GreenKids

Welcome to GreenKids, our after-school care located in a truly special spot in Schiedam. We are based inside the Nature and Environment Education Centre (NME) at Harreweg 10-12, right in the middle of the Speelpolder nature playground. This green setting gives children aged 4 to 12 a wealth of outdoor experiences and adventure. Our qualified staff guide the children through a wide range of outdoor activities: we garden in our own vegetable patch, discover insects and plants, build dens in the woods and play sports on the grass field. Thanks to our direct link with the NME, children learn about sustainability and the environment while they play. We keep group sizes small, with a maximum of 21 children per day, so every child receives the attention they deserve. Before-school care starts at 7:30 a.m.; after school we pick the children up from the primary schools in the neighbourhood. The rest of the afternoon is devoted to free play, crafting with natural materials, cooking over a campfire or playing football on our own pitch. We follow the child’s interests and provide calm and structure after a busy school day. Come and see for yourself how wonderful it is to grow up among the trees, by the stream and in the meadow.
