BSO Franciscus Op Stoom

Welcome to BSO Franciscus Op Stoom, the vibrant after-school care centre at Kerklaan 12 in Bennebroek where young and old meet. We are part of childcare organisation Op Stoom, which together with primary school De Franciscus forms one warm, safe community. Our BSO is open to children aged 4 to 12 and offers an adventurous place to play, discover and grow every afternoon. An afternoon with us starts the moment the school bell rings. From Monday to Friday our doors are open from the end of the school day until 18.30. We use two locations: BSO Franciscus Junior in the day-care and pre-school building, and BSO Franciscus Senior inside the school itself. This allows us to tailor the programme to each age group. What makes us typically Op Stoom? We believe in the process. Whether children are building the Eiffel Tower with Kapla, creating a mud kitchen together or organising a football match – it’s all about discovering, trying and experiencing. Our Travellers add extra colour: specialists in art, nature, cooking, sport or technology who visit the locations and provide special activities such as a children’s cooking café, a dune expedition or a robotics workshop. In good weather the school playground is our favourite hang-out. Rain? We move to the gym or dive into creative indoor fun. On study days and during school holidays we roll out day-long programmes: from sports tournaments and nature excursions to craft marathons and Sinterklaas surprises.
