BSO De Olijfboom

BSO De Olijfboom is located on the ground floor of the Evangelical Child Centre De Olijfboom at Enkdwarsstraat 5 in Deventer. We provide small-scale, home-like after-school care for up to 57 children aged 4 to 12. Our BSO works closely with the primary school: the youngest children are escorted to our door by their teacher, while older children make the short walk independently. Our care is organised into three horizontal age groups, each with its own dedicated space. Benjamin (4-6 years) enjoys a safe, playful corner featuring a home corner, blocks, cars and an arts table. Jozef (6-9) and Juda (9-12) follow an open-door policy: they can join joint activities or remain in their own group according to their needs. At mealtimes every child returns to their fixed group. We offer a varied programme. In the Talentenlab we bake banana bread, soup or cheese sticks together, carry out science experiments and enjoy extensive craft sessions. Once a month we exercise in the sports hall and we use the school playground or patio for outdoor play every day. During holidays we work around a theme and organise enjoyable outings in Deventer. Our Christian identity is evident: we pray together, sing Christian children’s songs, read Bible stories and celebrate Christian festivals. Our qualified staff provide personal attention so that every child can be themselves and discover their talents in a safe, loving environment.
