Eigenwijs

BSO Eigenwijs is part of IKC de Steltloper located at Oosterweg 56 in De Wilp. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a homely, safe environment where every child can be themselves. Our fixed core groups ‘Eigen’ and ‘Wijs’ are supervised by a permanent team of pedagogical staff who know each child personally and challenge them to discover their talents. The day begins with a calm gathering moment on the playground: children from different groups and schools come together, store their school things and can play freely to unwind from the school day. Afterwards we sit together in small groups at the table for a drink and a biscuit. Guided by a pedagogical employee we talk about the day and which activities are on the programme. Children then choose whether to join the activity on offer or opt for free play. Exercise and healthy behaviour are central. We collaborate with local football club De Wilper Boys and offer ‘sport and play’ activities on the football pitch three times a week. In addition, we encourage daily outdoor play on our own playground and in the green surroundings of De Wilp. We end the day with a table moment: together we eat a topped cracker or rusk, have another drink and children show each other what they have made or experienced. For parents there is a clear application form and we are open for tours and personal introductions. BSO Eigenwijs is there for children who want to play, sport, discover and relax in a familiar environment after school until 6 p.m.
