Eigen&Wijzer BSO De Boomhut

Welcome to Eigen&Wijzer BSO De Boomhut, the place in Uithoorn where school-age children aged 4 to 13 can enjoy playing with friends after school. Our small-scale team works with a fixed child-to-staff ratio of 1 to 8 and offers a homely environment where children can be themselves. We pick up children from BS Amby, the Free School and the Montessori school, so parents can work without worry. At De Boomhut, independence and discovery are central. Children have plenty of room to choose their own activities and push boundaries. We believe that children can already do a lot themselves and therefore take them very seriously. Our pedagogical staff give tips and advice, but above all let children try for themselves. This way their self-confidence and self-reliance grow. Our activity program is varied and adventurous. We craft, build, cook and bake together. Sports activities and games are on the program daily. We also regularly organize excursions and camps, such as the annual BSO camp with a spectacular theme. In addition, we offer Activity Care, where older children with a specific talent can develop under the guidance of professional staff. Outdoor play is an important part of our care. We have a playground and sports field right outside the door, where children can romp, play football or build huts. For the real adventurers there is Outdoor Spot Pit: outdoors all year round, roaming through forest, water and meadows. Children learn to make fire, shoot bow and arrow and discover tracks and adventurous paths. There is also room to quietly do homework or just chill after a long school day. We find it important that children think along about our activity program. This way they learn to negotiate, listen to each other and stand up for themselves.
