Welcome to BSO 2Leeuweriken, located at Walenburg 25 in the Mariahoeve district of The Hague’s Haagse Hout area. We are part of childcare organisation 2Samen and have provided trusted after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 for over ten years. Our building is within walking distance of several primary schools, so children can come to us safely after class. We also pick up from OBS Leeuwerikhoeve, Montessori Kindcentrum John F. Kennedy and De Bonte Vlinder. On arrival a familiar face greets every child with a snack and a drink. At 2Leeuweriken we follow 2Samen’s pedagogical policy: ‘Learning through play, learning to live’. We believe children learn best by exploring and experiencing for themselves. Our qualified pedagogical staff offer plenty of freedom of choice while staying close to guide and challenge. We pay special attention to social skills: playing together, showing consideration and solving conflicts. Our large garden invites outdoor play and nature discovery. There is a sports and games pitch for daily exercise, a vegetable and herb garden the children tend themselves, and a creative corner for arts and crafts. When the weather is good we regularly take trips to the nearby Haagse Bos or Marlot park. After school children can first relax with a healthy snack and drink. They then choose whether to join an activity or play freely. We offer sports and games, crafts, nature education, drama and cooking. Older children can use a quiet area for homework, supported by our staff. Parents stay in touch through the 2Samen app: photos of the day, important announcements and holiday schedules are always at hand. We work closely with parents and believe every child should feel seen and valued. Together we create a place children love to come to.
