BSO Drakensteijn

Welcome to BSO Drakensteijn, our modern after-school care centre in Westlaren. We are located in a brand-new building at Schipborgerweg 2, right behind day-care centre Liedekeijn. From this location we provide care for up to 60 children aged 4 to 12. Every day our enthusiastic team of pedagogical staff is ready to give children a safe, challenging and, above all, fun time. We are open every weekday for both before-school care from 07:00 and after-school care. During school holidays and study days we remain open, so parents can always rely on us. On Wednesdays and Fridays we share the premises with BSO Buiten-spel, which creates an even wider range of activities and playmates. Our centre works together with schools in the immediate area. We pick up children from De Zuidwester, Het Stroomdal, Jonglaren, De Schuthoek and De Lichtkring. For the longer distances we use our own taxis and cargo bikes, or we accompany older children by bicycle. This way all children get from school to the after-school care safely and quickly. At BSO Drakensteijn, free play is central, but we also offer a diverse range of activities. Children choose what they feel like: crafting in the creative corner, romping in the garden, joining a sports or nature activity, or simply relaxing with a book or board game. During holidays we work with an extensive holiday programme full of outings, themed days and creative projects. Parents receive the programme one week in advance so that everyone can prepare well. We believe it is important that children feel seen and heard. That is why we work with small, horizontal groups in which children of the same age play and learn together. Our pedagogical staff know every child and can therefore respond well to what that child needs. Parents stay informed via our handy parent app, where we share photos, reports and important announcements. In short: BSO Drakensteijn is the place where school children can simply be who they are after school, while parents can work or study with peace of mind.
