Dikkedeur Basis-BSO

Dikkedeur Basis-BSO is located at Oudedijk 201 in the heart of Rotterdam-Kralingen. We provide after-school care for the youngest primary-school children: toddlers aged 4 up to about 7. The location has a maximum capacity of 40 places, split into two horizontal age groups. In Basis-bso I we welcome the very youngest (4-5.5 years); in Basis-bso II the children aged 5-6/7 years. This way every child plays with peers and receives challenges that match their stage of development. The rooms are purpose-built for this age range. Toddlers love to hide in our ‘Arabian lounge’, create masterpieces at the painting easels, run their own little shop or challenge each other with mind games. Older children enjoy a cosy girls’ corner, a living-room area to relax, a Kapla zone for builders and a sunny roof terrace where we look after small plants. Both groups also have their own gymnasium – our ‘playing jungle’ – packed with exciting sports and play equipment. As soon as the school bell rings our programme begins. We start with fresh fruit and healthy drinks because ‘healthy and active’ is at the heart of everything we do. Then it’s time for fresh air: to the playground on Oudedijk, a visit to the petting farm or an adventure in Kralingse Bos. Every activity is tailored to the children’s age and energy levels, ensuring they go home satisfied and happy. Our pedagogical staff act as the fixed contact for each child.
