BSO de Wereldster

At BSO De Wereldster in Meerssen we welcome children aged 4 to 13 in a homely, safe environment where they can unwind, play and discover after school. We always start the afternoon together in age groups: sharing some food and drinks and the stories of the day. Afterwards the children decide for themselves what they want to do, because it is their free time. Our doors stay open and children are free to move between the different rooms and activities. Being outdoors is central to us. Our location has a huge outdoor area where children can run, build huts, explore and experience adventures. We regularly use the nearby forest as a natural playground. Fresh air, movement and adventure are part of De Wereldster; we make sure every child feels free to play in their own way. Besides our regular offer we regularly organise fun and educational extras such as cooking activities, music lessons and nature walks. During the school holidays there is a varied programme with workshops and activities, so no day is the same and every child has an enjoyable and inspiring time. BSO De Wereldster works together with Primary School De Wereldster and Primary School De Lindegaerd in Meerssen. Children attending these schools can come to us straight after school; we pick them up in the hallway. This makes the transition from school to after-school care smooth and familiar. Our groups are horizontally organised: two groups for 4- to 8-year-olds and two groups for 7- to 13-year-olds. In this way we provide activities that match the age and development of each child.
