BSO De Vuurvogel Nachtegaallaan

BSO De Vuurvogel Nachtegaallaan is the after-school care centre for pupils of Vrije School De Vuurvogel in Ede. We are located in the charming ‘Zonnetje’ building on the school playground at Nachtegaallaan 49. We are open every weekday from 12:45 to 18:30; during school holidays and study days we welcome children from 8:30 to 18:30 so parents can work worry-free. We create a loving, homely yet challenging environment where children are free to explore and develop their social, cognitive, artistic, motor and practical skills from their own perspective. Natural materials, soft colours and imaginative toys set the tone. We use organic food: together we peel fruit, bake bread from flour, yeast and water, and experience how sun, rain and earth combine into a healthy meal. After school, children find rest and relaxation, but also plenty of room for free play. Younger children stay close to the pedagogical staff, while older children—by agreement—gradually gain more responsibility and freedom. Music, drama, crafting with beeswax crayons and discovering nature are regular parts of our programme. We live and work according to a daily, weekly and yearly rhythm that offers security, safety and connection. Our care options are flexible: before-school care from 7:30 a.m. (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, and Tue if demand is sufficient), short afternoon care until 3:00 p.m., late afternoon care until 6:30 p.m., or full afternoon care from 12:45 to 6:30 p.m. Holiday care is available via KOVnet, except on official public holidays, the third and fourth weeks of the summer holiday and 25 December to 1 January.
