De Vlinderboom op School

De Vlinderboom op School is located within Vrije School de Sterrenzanger at Raadhuisstraat 3 in Oudorp. We provide after-school care (BSO) exclusively for children attending this school. Our BSO is a secure second home where up to 30 children per afternoon are guided by three permanent pedagogical staff. We follow anthroposophical pedagogy and fully align our rhythm with the school timetable. Each afternoon begins at 12:30 with a shared organic-biodynamic lunch. We then alternate quiet and active moments: younger children can play in our cosy living-room area, while older children join at 14:45 for a sandwich or rice cake and water. Children then choose whether to take part in an activity or play freely. We offer creative craft projects, cooking, sports and games and encourage outdoor play with materials for building huts, sandpit and football. During holidays and teacher training days we are open from 08:00 to 18:30. We organise trips to forest, dunes, farms or large playgrounds and work on themes suggested by the children. Our vertical groups – toddlers and primary school children together, and a separate group for older children – give every child space to develop at their own pace. At the end of the day we close quietly with a reading moment in the fruit circle so that parents can collect their child in a relaxed mood.
