BSO De Verbeelding Op Stoom

Welcome to BSO De Verbeelding, a welcoming after-school care centre located right inside primary school De Verbeelding at Louis Couperusstraat 2 in Haarlem. Because we are situated within the school itself, children step straight from their classroom into a world of play and discovery—no travelling time, just more time to enjoy. We have room for up to 30 children each afternoon. The programme begins with a tasty cracker and a refreshing drink. After that, children choose their own adventure: budding builders head for the construction corner stacked with Kapla blocks, while storytellers and actors take centre stage in the imaginative doll corner. When the sun shines, the schoolyard becomes our football pitch, tag arena or obstacle course. If the weather turns, we simply move into the gym for judo, movement games or an energetic round of dodgeball. Our activities are driven by the children’s interests and change every week. One day we might create art from autumn leaves, the next we organise a mini sports tournament or tend plants in our small garden. This keeps our offer fresh and perfectly suited to children aged 4 to 12. During teacher training days and school holidays we are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We also provide morning care from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., giving parents a calm start to the day and children a relaxed beginning to their lessons. Our dedicated team of pedagogical staff work closely with the teachers of De Verbeelding, ensuring short lines of communication and a seamless continuation of each child’s daily experience. The result is a safe, stimulating environment where every child feels at home.
