SKO BSO IKC De Vlinder

We are BSO Praatjesmakers, the after-school care within IKC De Vlinder in Wezep. Together with primary schools De Bron and De Spoorzoeker we form one integral child centre at a single location on Cotoneasterstraat 19A. This keeps communication lines short and ensures children and parents experience a smooth transition between school and childcare. We provide professional after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a place where they feel at home. Our pedagogical staff create a safe environment in which children can develop, make friends and discover new talents. We work from a flexible parenting style: we put the child's needs first, set clear boundaries and together look for a healthy middle ground that fits within group care. Our activity programme is challenging and varied. We play, craft, sing and move. We have a large outdoor garden where children can run, play football or simply lie in the grass. Indoors there is space to quietly read a book or be creative. We work with themes that connect to the children's world of experience and pay attention to seasons and holidays. Birthdays are celebrated together with the whole group. We offer before-school care from 7:00 AM and after-school care until 6:30 PM. During school holidays and study days we are open all day. We pick up children from primary schools De Bron and De Spoorzoeker and take them to school in the morning. During childcare children receive healthy snacks such as fruit and drinks. As a green organisation we pay attention to nature and the environment. We use natural materials and teach children to treat their surroundings respectfully. We find it important that children feel comfortable with us and can be themselves. A child should be able to choose to actively participate or to simply do nothing on a lap for a while.
