BSO De Otter

BSO De Otter is part of the Otterkolken child campus located at Professor ten Doesschatestraat 119a in Heemskerk. We provide before-school, after-school and holiday care for children aged 4 to 13 in a safe and homely environment. Our pedagogical staff are ready to guide children in discovering their talents and developing their personalities. Our location is open all year round, except for the week between Christmas and New Year, official public holidays, Good Friday and one study day per year. During school weeks we offer before-school care from 07:30 to 08:30 and after-school care on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 14:30 to 18:30. On Wednesday, after-school care starts at 12:30. During holidays and study days we provide holiday care from 08:00 to 18:00. We work with a clear pedagogical policy focused on five pedagogical tools: staff-child interaction, indoor-outdoor space, the group, activities and play materials. Safety and health are high on our agenda. We have clear rules for the use of playground equipment and tools, and work with protocols and work instructions that are transparent to parents and staff via KidsKonnect and on location. Children can enjoy relaxed play, creative activities such as crafts, and spending time together. We offer a warm home base where every child can be themselves and where there is room for their own initiative. Parents stay informed through the KidsKonnect app with photos, messages and practical information such as requesting extra days or reporting absences.
