BSO De Ontdekking

BSO De Ontdekking is located at Andriessenplein 4 in Deventer and is part of Kindcentrum De Ontdekking. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12, working closely with the primary school located in the same building. Our BSO is designed to offer children a safe and homely place to relax, play, and develop after school. We put children at the center of everything we do. We believe children develop best when they are given the space to make their own choices and decide on their own activities. That’s why we offer a wide range of activities, both indoors and outdoors — from arts and crafts and outdoor play to sports and quiet time for reading or simply doing nothing. Our pedagogical staff are there to guide, encourage, and challenge children without taking over. We work with three age-based groups: The Discoverers (early primary), The Inventors (middle primary), and The Scientists (upper primary). Each group has its own space tailored to the age and developmental stage of the children. The transition from school to after-school care is smooth, as children are already familiar with the building and staff. We pick up children from school and start the afternoon together with a shared meal and drink. Our vision is based on the Montessori principle: "Help me do it myself." We aim to help children become independent and take responsibility for their own choices and behavior — all within a warm, homely environment where every child feels safe and seen.
