Prokino De Melkweg BSO

Prokino BSO De Melkweg is located inside primary school OBS De Ploeg at Melkweg 42 in the centre of Laren. Our entrance is right at the end of the school corridor, so children step straight from class into the BSO. We are a small-scale, village-style after-school care centre with room for a maximum of twenty children; everyone knows each other, making De Melkweg a familiar place where children quickly feel at home. The setting is surrounded by woods and we make full use of this natural space. After school we enjoy a drink together and the children decide for themselves what they would like to do that afternoon. They can simply relax in our ‘secret’ lounge – a cosy corner where you can retreat with a book or just do nothing – or join the group activity from DOENKids! This programme, developed by Prokino, offers a daily variety of sports and play activities focused on playing and working together. Think football, dodgeball, creative craft projects or nature walks in the immediate area. Our qualified pedagogical staff are on hand to guide children when needed, without restricting their freedom. We believe every child should have the space to explore, discover and be themselves. We therefore work with fixed, colourful groups and a clear daily structure that provides both security and room for personal initiative.
