BSO de Kwartel

Welcome to BSO de Kwartel, the after-school care centre for children attending Julianaschool Kwartellaan in Bussum. Located right next to the school, the step from classroom to playtime is literally a small one. Our centre can accommodate up to 95 children and is divided into four groups: two groups for children aged 4–7 and two groups for children aged 7–10. This horizontal grouping ensures that children spend the afternoon with peers who share the same world of experience, making everyone feel at home quickly. At BSO de Kwartel, your child decides how to spend the afternoon. In the spacious group room, tall towers are built, while the art studio is stocked with colourful materials for the most beautiful creations. Children who fancy a game of table tennis, a quick basketball match or a lively football game on the pitch next door can indulge to their heart’s content. Our outdoor area is designed as a natural playground with a water pump, climbing and clambering equipment and plenty of natural materials such as sand, wood and leaves. Here, children can unwind after school, burn off energy and let their imagination run wild. During school holidays and study days we make things extra special. We organise activities that are just a little different, such as a day trip to Oud Valkeveen, a visit to the large playground at Heidezicht, ice-skating at the Bussum rink or an adventurous excursion with the forest ranger. We travel in our own minibuses, so transport is taken care of. Best of all: these holiday outings are included at no extra cost. Because we only care for children from Julianaschool Kwartellaan, the atmosphere is familiar and manageable. Our pedagogical staff maintain close contact with the teachers, enabling us to offer a continuous learning line. Through the Parent Portal we keep you informed of the weekly activity programme, share photos and give an impression of the day. If you have a question or want to pass on something about your child, simply send a message; we will respond as quickly as possible. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from the end of the school day until 18:30. During holidays and study days we are open from 08:00 to 18:30. We are closed only on official public holidays, the SKBNM study day and the Friday after Ascension Day.
