De Kubus

BSO De Kubus is part of Kindcentrum Dikkertje Dap, located at Gerlachusstraat 79-81 in Loon op Zand. We provide after-school care for up to 35 primary-school children from groups 1 through 8. Most children attend the adjacent De Lage Weijkens primary school and are collected on foot by our qualified pedagogical staff. Our spacious BSO area is divided into two sections. At the front of the building there is a large table for drawing and colouring, a cosy reading corner, a dolls’ corner and a construction zone. At the back you will find a big kitchen area where the children eat and drink together and can put on dress-up clothes for a mini performance. We also have a separate art studio stocked with materials for free creative work; this room doubles as a quiet homework space. We believe the child should be at the centre and develop in his or her own way. The BSO is free time: children decide what they want to do and we support their choices. We do offer activities such as forest walks, but participation is optional. During school holidays and on Wednesdays all BSO children from Loon op Zand gather at De Kubus for a joint programme.
