De Kinderkei Location Franciscusschool BSO is located right on the playground of JKC Sint Franciscus at Lycklamaweg 14 in Wolvega. We provide a homely after-school care service for up to 50 children from grades 1 to 8. Because our BSO is literally inside the school, children walk straight to us when the last bell rings. No transport is needed and your child stays in a familiar environment surrounded by classmates. Our two groups, the Penguins (4-7 years) and the Zebras (6-12 years), are organised horizontally. The Penguins use the cosy Cabin on the playground, while the Zebras use the spacious hall inside the school. Both rooms are stocked with challenging toys, craft materials, board games and books. In addition, all children are free to play on the large green outdoor area with natural play structures, sports fields and plenty of space to build huts. We follow a fixed daily schedule. During short sessions we start at 14:30 with tea and fruit. Afterwards children choose for themselves: join an activity we offer or free play. Around 16:00 and 17:00 another healthy snack and drink is served. On Wednesdays, during the long session, we have lunch together at 12:30 and the programme starts at 13:15. During holidays we run an active day programme with creative workshops, sports and game days and fun excursions. Our pedagogical staff are ready from 7:30 in the morning for before-school care. After school we are open until 18:00; by arrangement this can be extended to 18:30. Flexibility is important to us: parents can make tailor-made arrangements that fit their schedule. This way care at De Kinderkei always stays personal and fitting.
