About this care
AI
BSO De Kasteeltuyn, dependance is located at Rakkersveld 137 in Zoetermeer’s Palenstein district and is part of gro-up, a large network providing childcare, maternity care, community work and youth support throughout South-Holland and Utrecht. Since 11 June 2024 our small-scale out-of-school care welcomes a maximum of 20 children aged 4 to 12. The recently renovated premises offer a cosy, homely atmosphere where every child quickly feels at ease; because we keep the group small, children and staff all know each other personally.
We work closely with primary school De Kasteeltuyn to form an Integral Child Centre (IKC). This partnership guarantees short communication lines, smooth handovers and aligned activities so that children never feel they are repeating the same programme twice. Every afternoon our qualified pedagogical staff offer a development-oriented activity plan built around changing themes, yet the children themselves decide what they want to do—after all, time at BSO is their free time.
Sport and physical activity take centre stage. We use Castellum sports hall, the Richard Krajicek Playground and the Tipi Tuin nature playground on a daily basis, and we also regularly head for the nearby basketball court, playground and grass fields. When the weather is poor we move indoors and invent creative sports and games. In addition we provide a wide range of arts & crafts, drama, singing, dancing, cooking, construction, board games and reading. We collaborate with the Palenstein sports coach and expertise centre Piëzo to discover and stimulate every child’s talents.
Throughout the year we organise special events such as Toddler Gym, Children’s Book Week, National Reading Aloud Days, Mud Day, King’s Day and the annual Palenstein Day together with local partners. Parents who would like to experience our atmosphere can make an appointment with location manager Mandy Stuger; we will gladly show you around and explain how we make sure children go home full of stories and big smiles.Read more
