De Kameleon

BSO de Kameleon is located in the Ter Borch child center in Eelderwolde. The child center is fresh, bright and spacious and completely designed for children. We provide after-school care for up to 150 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our location has three dedicated group rooms for the BSO and a beautiful teaching kitchen. To optimally respond to the needs and wishes of the children, the groups are divided by age. The youngest children aged 4 to 6 have two group rooms downstairs and can go directly from the group room to the outdoor area. Children aged 7 and up have four group rooms on the first floor. We also share three classrooms with the school. Our outdoor space offers many opportunities for play, as well as the adjacent green area where children can go under supervision. We work together with Natuurmonumenten, located in the farm in the Onlanden. As a BSO, we are members of Oerrr, the youth department of Natuurmonumenten. We let children experience nature and regularly visit the farm in the Onlanden. We work closely with after-school care De Riethut in the adjacent Borchkwartier. The Borchkwartier, where you can also find OBS Ter Borch, has a sports hall. On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, children aged 7 and up can participate in sports BSO here. We also use this hall during holidays. Throughout the year we work with different themes such as spring, summer, jungle and circus. Within the themes we offer age-appropriate activities. For the 7+ children we set up various activity workshops per theme where children can participate. From cooking workshops to creative activities to sports and games, we provide a diverse offering where there is always something fun to do for every child. Of course, children are free to make their own choice; there is always room for free play. We encourage where necessary, but it remains the children's free time. We value children's opinions. We regularly organize consultation meetings for children aged 7 and up. They can think along about rules, toys and which themes and activities they find important. For BSO Kameleon, the Eelderwolde Parent Committee is active.
