BSO 'de Kabas'

BSO 'de Kabas' is located on the ground floor of primary school De Kabas at Tuinen 28 in the heart of Franeker. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland, we have been providing trusted after-school care since 18 October 2010 for up to 66 children aged 4 to 13. Our location is within walking distance of the city center and is therefore easily accessible. We work closely with the school in which we are located. This collaboration makes it possible for children to enter a familiar environment immediately after school. Our pedagogical staff pick up the children from their classroom and guide them to the BSO area. Here, children can discover and learn on their own. We play together, but also clean up together. This stimulates the independence and group feeling of the children. During the care, we pay attention to bilingualism: Dutch-Frisian. We are certified for this and children come into contact with both languages in a playful way. We are supported in this by the knowledge center SFBO. This language-rich environment contributes to the development of the children and prepares them for the future. De Kabas is working on IKC development. This means that childcare and education are increasingly integrated. We expect to need the period 2024-2029 to develop the integral vision and the future building into an Integral Child Center. This offers children an even better connection between school and after-school care. Our BSO is registered in the National Childcare Register under number 139119905. This number is necessary when applying for childcare allowance. We meet all legal quality requirements and are under the supervision of the GGD Fryslân.
