BSO De Hooiberg

Welcome to BSO De Hooiberg, located on the ground floor of primary school De Weidevogels in the Weidevenne district of Purmerend. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a homely, familiar setting. Because we are literally inside the school, children simply walk down the corridor after class—no travelling time, maximum calm. Our location has four base groups, each with its own permanent pedagogical staff and atmosphere. The Eendenvijver is designed for the youngest children (4–6). This group usually stays in its own classroom, where we offer games, crafts and building activities tailored to their world of experience. From the room children can step straight onto the playground’s ‘small square’ for safe romping. Older children join the Vogelnest, Zwanenmeer or Zwaluw groups. After a healthy snack in their own group, our open-door policy allows them to choose where they play: the craft room, the kitchen for cooking activities, the gym for sports and games, or outside on the ‘large square’ and in the ‘cage’ for ball games. Children aged 8+ have their own programme in the annex, including dance, 3-D printing, woodwork and homework support. We collect children every day from De Weidevogels, De Marimba, Het Tangram and De Plankier schools; older pupils from De Weidevogels may come independently. Our before-school care starts at 07:00: children wake up calmly with a game or drawing, then we walk them to class so everyone begins the day relaxed. During school holidays and study days we remain open, organising extra workshops and excursions that turn every break into a celebration. Parents receive daily reports with photos via the Parent App, so you never miss a moment. In short, BSO De Hooiberg is a second home where children can be themselves, discover new things and make friends for life.
