BSO de Edelsteen

BSO De Edelsteen is located inside Vrije School De Vijfster at Texandrilaan 30, Apeldoorn, and is part of Stichting Christoforus. We provide after-school care for up to 55 children aged 4 to 13. Our location has been registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) under number 699658470 since 1 January 2005. Free time and fun are our priorities. After school the children gather for a snack and a drink; a quiet moment to share the stories of their day. Then they choose: join an organised activity or do something on their own. Our programme changes continuously and includes sports, games, music, cooking, reading, technology and creative workshops every day. Older children (9-13) have their own KIDSclub where they take part in challenging activities and workshops, practise independence and have a say through a children’s council. During every school holiday De Edelsteen turns into a festive venue. We work around one theme and offer an awesome holiday programme with new activities every day and regular excursions. All activities are tailored to age and interests so every child stays challenged. We are open straight after school and also provide care on teacher training days. Our pedagogical staff pick the children up from the IKC or wait for them at the school gate. Together with the children we think about the layout, materials and activity programme, because their opinion matters.
