Welcome to BSO de Heiweg, location Grootstalselaan – a small-scale after-school care centre in the heart of Nijmegen. Our site at Grootstalselaan 13 offers a homely place for up to 32 children aged 4 to 12. We are open every weekday for before- and after-school care, on teacher training days and during school holidays. We believe children develop best in a familiar environment where they are free to choose what they want to do. That is why we work with fixed pedagogical staff who really know the children and take time for each individual. After school the children can play outside, do crafts, play games or simply relax. We provide a wide range of activities, but nothing is compulsory. Our Grootstalselaan location has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 177143952 since 24 August 2022. We co-operate with several primary schools in the neighbourhood so we can collect the children safely after school and bring them to the BSO. We think it is important that children feel at home with us. That is why we deliberately chose a small-scale set-up: one group, one room, one team. In this way children learn to interact with different ages and develop social skills in a safe setting. During holidays we organise fun trips and themed days tailored to the children’s interests.
