BSO De Havenclub

Since autumn 2023, BSO De Havenclub has been welcoming children: a cheerful after-school care centre where there is always something to do and the children help decide the activities. We are located on the first floor of the Harbour Bilingual school building at Lieve Verschuierstraat 62 in Rotterdam-Delfshaven. The site has two dedicated rooms and a shared open learning area; in bad weather we can also use the indoor gym on the ground floor. Our BSO is open to children aged 4 to 13. After school they can relax or get active. We offer space for outdoor play and sports, arts and crafts, or simply curling up with a good book, as well as hanging out with friends. Almost anything goes, very little is compulsory. At the same time children learn to take each other into account – valuable for now and for the future. We work closely with the school: younger children are collected from their classroom, older children walk to the BSO rooms themselves. This close cooperation allows us to respond quickly and give every child the care and attention they need. During school holidays De Havenclub remains open. In the summer we run BSO Holiday Land: a themed programme packed with challenging activities. Other holiday periods also feature fun and varied programmes, organised together with BSO Schoonderloo on Coolhavenstraat. Parent involvement is very important to us. We invite parents to join our parent committee and to take part in regular joint activities. Together we create a safe and stimulating place where children feel at home and can discover their talents.
