BSO de Griffioen

BSO De Griffioen is an after-school care facility run by gro-up, located inside primary school De Griffioen at Rudyard Kipling-erf 123 in the Stadspolders district of Dordrecht. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12, offering both before-school care (VSO) and after-school care (NSO). During school weeks we are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:00–8:30 for VSO and from school end until 18:30 for NSO. On Wednesdays care is provided at our sister location BSO Ratjetoe. Our setting consists of two base groups: Group 1 for children aged 4–6 (max. 20 children) and Group 2 for children aged 7+ (max. 11 children). Each child is assigned a consistent mentor from our team of permanent pedagogical staff, ensuring a smooth hand-over between school and BSO. When staff are on leave we deploy trained flexible workers who are familiar with our approach. Every holiday we organise a six-week activity programme packed with themed outings such as visits to Madurodam, the beach or playgrounds. Extra attention is given to sports and movement: sports days, heptathlons or football tournaments are regular features. Children also have plenty of opportunity for free play and creative activities. Parents receive all programme details through the Konnect parent app. We maintain intensive cooperation with parents through intake meetings, daily hand-over moments, parent consultations and an active parent committee. Our location has its own parent committee that advises on quality matters. The gro-up parent portal is used for registration, requesting extra care and sharing information and photos. Our pedagogical staff receive regular coaching from a pedagogical coach (VE/IKK) and we offer internships to vocational trainees. Child safety is paramount: we apply the four-eyes principle and have a back-up care arrangement in place.
