BSO De Goede Herder

BSO De Goede Herder is located in the community centre 'Ons Huis' at Zeeweg 100 in Ermelo, right next to De Goede Herder primary school. We are a Christian after-school care facility that, together with the school, provides a warm and safe place for children aged 4 to 12. After school, children simply walk through to our spacious, bright group room. We offer care on school days, study days and during all school holidays. Our pedagogical approach is founded on Christian values: respect, trust and care for one another are central. We work with permanent childcare staff who know the children well and give them space to be themselves. The daily schedule is clear: first some time to unwind with a drink and fruit, then the children choose whether to join an activity or play freely. We make extensive use of the immediate surroundings: the forest, the playing field and the school playground are just around the corner. We regularly go on excursions or organise scavenger hunts in nature. Creative activities are high on our agenda. Children can do crafts with natural materials, paint, build and design. There is also room for sports and games: we organise football tournaments, relay races and outdoor games that encourage teamwork. We also work thematically: around seasons, holidays or current events we create fun projects. During holiday weeks we offer extra challenging activities such as a survival day or a creative workshop. For parents there is clear communication: we regularly share photos and daily reports. Together with you we create a familiar environment in which your child feels safe and valued. BSO De Goede Herder is there for every child, exactly as he or she is.
