De Geheime Tuin BSO Utrecht

Welcome to De Geheime Tuin BSO Utrecht, located at Maliebaan 56 in the heart of Utrecht. Our homely premises provide after-school care for up to 46 children aged 4 to 12. We are inspired by anthroposophical principles in which attention, rhythm and respect for each child’s individuality are central. Our location works closely with De Vrije School Utrecht. We collect children from both the Maliebaan site and the Hieronymusplantsoen site, giving parents one familiar address for all after-school hours. Care is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Small-scale care is our hallmark. We work in one vertical group in which children of different ages play, learn and discover together. The spacious garden and nearby park invite outdoor play, gardening and sports activities. We regularly bake organic bread together, tend our vegetable garden and let children experience healthy food in a natural way according to our eight golden food rules. Creative expression is fully encouraged: we paint, sing and work with natural materials. During holiday weeks we organise themed projects such as outdoor exhibitions where children create artworks in the open air under guidance. All our activities are designed to give children calm, space and inspiration after a busy school day.
